These past couple weeks I have been able to try out some new protein snacks and wanted to let ya’ll know how they were! Today I am going to be talking about Mighty Muffins by the brand Flapjacked and protein brownies by the brand Beechie’s Bakehouse. Both of these snacks are AMAZING!!
For those of you who have never tried these, they are microwaveable protein muffins! So cute, easy to make and delicious :). They come in several flavors including peanut butter, double chocolate, cinnamon apple, and maple pumpkin. I have tried the maple pumpkin and cinnamon apple flavors, both of which were SOOO YUMMY! Literally could smell their aroma as soon as I opened the package before even microwaving them.
Making the muffins is simple, just open the container, add some water and microwave for 35 seconds! And the macros are great too. They vary slightly by flavor but the cinnamon apple one (which I literally just finished eating) has 220 calories, 24g carbs, 5g fat, 20g protein and 5g fiber. I don’t know about ya’ll but whenever I have tried to make my own microwave protein muffins the texture is always kinda off….that’s why I was so impressed with the texture of these muffins! They were super tall, cakey and moist! You can eat them straight out of the container or let it cool and dump it out to eat like a mini cake (as pictured below). I would give this product a 10/10! No complaints here 🙂
Beechie’s Bakehouse Classic Protein Brownies
Another great protein treat! These brownies are about the size of your palm and are an excellent source of fiber and protein! But don’t worry, nothing about them tastes like a healthy, fiber-filled brownie. The texture is rather light and cakey, rather than dense and chewy. Another great thing about them is that you can store them in the freezer and then microwave or warm them up in the oven when you are ready to eat one. I have warmed them up using both methods and they come out perfectly! The macros for one brownie are 142 calories, 26g carbs, 5g fat, 14g protein and 21g fiber.
