About Me

Hi guys!

My name is Sarah and I am a 24 year old North Carolina girl with a passion for fitness and food.  I have a B.S in Exercise and Sports Science and am currently getting my M.S in Nutrition.

My Fitness Journey:

I would say that my fitness journey began in high school when I started running track and cross country.  Not gonna lie, I hated running at first and was not that good at it.  Luckily, I quickly learned that I was a good runner and began to love it!  With that said, my fascination with running was not always the healthiest and neither was my relationship with food at that time.  I struggled a lot with disordered eating and a terrible body image.  I was never fat but I would obsess so much over my body and was never happy with myself no matter what I may have looked like on the outside.  This carried on until my sophomore year of college.  I was a cardio bunny and restricted my calories and carbs.  That year I decided to get help and slowly changed my mindset about exercise and nutrition.  My body image greatly improved and I genuinely enjoyed running as a form of exercise and freedom rather than a way to burn calories.

My senior year of college I decided that I wanted to start lifting. Best Decision Ever. Yes, I still continued running because I love it but I also began lifting heavy.  I also began looking into iifym and flexible dieting because I knew that I would seriously need to pay attention to my nutrition if I wanted to gain muscle.  A year later, I can now say that this has been the greatest decision.  I am so much stronger mentally and physically!! I am also eating wayyy more food than before and surprisingly weigh less than I did when I was a starving cardio bunny.  Back in high school I was probably eating around 1600 calories (maybe) and today I eat around 2100 calories.

I want to inspire other people out there who may feel stuck in their food and exercise routines or who are yet to find happiness with their body.  I have had so many ups and downs with my body on this fitness/nutrition journey and I want ya’ll to know that your own journey may not be easy but every step is necessary and worth it!! I hope my blog will inspire you guys to push yourselves and be happy 🙂

Sarah
